What we collect

When you sign in we receive your email address and display name from our identity provider (signin.ounie.com). When you transcribe something we store the job record: the source URL or the uploaded file, the length we measured, the credits reserved and settled, and the resulting transcript, timings, and optional summary.

What we don't collect

We don't track you across the web. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no session replay. We don't sell, share, or resell your recordings or transcripts, and neither is used to train any model.

Your recordings

Uploaded media is stored privately— in the Ounie S3 bucket, under this app's own prefix, at an unguessable path, readable only by the server running your job. It is never public and never appears in any listing. Deleting a job deletes the stored file with it.

Transcripts

Transcripts, segment timings, and summaries are stored in the application database and readable only by your account. Exports are generated on request and served directly to you; no export is ever hosted at a public URL.

Audio sent to the transcription provider

To produce a transcript, your audio — or, for long files, each split piece of it — is sent to the speech-to-text provider behind our transcription engine. They receive the audio only, never your name, email, or Ounie identity. When you ask for a summary, the transcript text is sent to our language-model provider on the same terms.

Where data lives

Application data (job records, transcripts, credit ledger entries) is stored in a Neon Postgres database hosted in the US. Uploaded media lives in the Ounie S3 bucket, also in the US.

Payments

Credit purchases happen on ounie.com, where Stripe processes payment. This product never sees your card number; it only reads and debits your Ounie credit wallet. x402 calls are settled in USDC on-chain and are pseudonymous — we record the paying wallet address and transaction hash, nothing more. Stripe's privacy policy lives at stripe.com/privacy.

Keyless (x402) calls

An x402 transcription has no account attached to it. The job row it creates has no owner, and the only identifying information kept is the payment receipt. Those rows are readable by anyone holding the job id, which is the receipt — treat it as you would a download link.

Deletion

Deleting a job removes its record, its transcript, and any file you uploaded for it. To delete your account or download your data, open a privacy ticket. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30.
